So here are a few fun facts about the Garnet. It is January's birthstone. Garnets have long been considered a symbol of love. Sometimes referred to as "a commitment stone" and given as a token of love, loyalty, and tenacity. The ancient Egyptians hailed the garnet as a symbol of life. I just love it for the beautiful rich color. I made this simple ring with some fun details - a sawtooth bezel, checkerboard faceting on the stone, and a twisted sterling shank.
