INNER WORKINGS
This centerpiece was quite a find for me! I was so excited to find this pyrite replaced ammonite fossil. It's an unusual and rare specimen, as it is a complete fossil of the inside of this ancient and not extinct sea creature. It was replaced by pyrite and pyrite crystals. The chamber walls were polished to a shiny smooth surface. What a great contrast to the sparkly crystal finish within each chamber. Smooth black onyx beads flank each side. What a wonderful piece of art, what a great piece of history, and what an interesting conversation piece!
